Jimmy Fallon

There couldn't have been a better Hollywood ending for us. It's beyond baseball. It's rooting for your family. Jimmy Fallon In 2004 the Red Sox did to the Yankees what no baseball team had ever accomplished in the history of the game. Down three games to none, they won four straight games on their way to become world champions for the first time in 86 years. Having experienced so many championship seasons as a Yankee fan, I could afford to be magnanimous. What resonated with me is the story of journeyman outfielder Kevin Millar who was the heart and soul of these self proclaimed idiots. He called out the Yankees before the 4th game and challenged them. “You don’t want us to win tonight.” The Yankees looked at him as if he was crazed, which of course, he was. “If we win tonight, we will have momentum and then if we win game 5, we will go back to New York with our pitching set up and anything can happen.” Millar was a prophet and that is why he will never have to buy a beer for the rest of his life in Boston. Those are the stories I look for. They are about baseball, but they are really about life
