200 Words on September Baseball

As September begins to take hold it van mean different things to different parts of the country. In the east, it means changing leaves and the reminder that Halloween is a month away and in the west, maybe the last heat of summer will release its stifling hold. But in baseball, it means you can begin to see the teams who will qualify as champions and I have my choices ready as they hit the stretch with 25 games left to play. In the AL, I like Texas. This team keeps knocking at the door and this year with Cruz ready to make his inglorious return from steroids, the only teams to stand in their way would be Boston and Detroit. Detroit would be y second pick, but what a great job Boston has dome in overhauling a team from the Valentine-Francona era in just one season. Hopefully, but not likely, New York will learn something from this. In the National League, my luck is always with the Cards, more so in baseball than in the casino. The buzz and the bucks say watch out for the Dodgers. If they can throw out that starting pitching, with Kershaw in the lead, they might be the last team standing, although I wonder if they peaked a bit too early.
