Mom and the NFL
I find myself thinking about my 91 year old second mom from time to time. She wasn’t a fan of the NFL, but for a time, her friends thought she had a special connection. There came a time when she moved into an oceanfront apartment in Fort Lauderdale and she dazzled the neighbors with a brass plate on her front door. It was the initials of her and her husband. One day, quite agitated, she asked me at the pool why all of her friends were asking her about football. Football? I couldn’t imagine why. The conversation followed all the way back to her front door. And then I saw what they saw. In bright, large golden letters on mom’s door. NFL.
