A Simple Plan

The funny thing is that it is so simple.

My vocabulary coaches and I often teach my formula in one night.

I have taught it to teachers who teach it to their students.

I have taught it to parents who teach it to their children.

I can teach it to you.

Everyone who thinks can learn my vocabulary formula.

It requires you to create an image for a word.

What word do you want to learn today?

Let's take an example.

How about ANACHRONISM?

The dictionary definition of ANACHRONISM is as follows:

•something located at a time when it could not have existed or occurred
•an artifact that belongs to another time

And for so many students that's where it ends.

The definition is read, retained for a short period of time and then completely forgotten.

My formula teaches the student to create a picture in mind, frozen into memory, which will permanently place the word in your mental treasury.

Picturing a dinosaur at the mall is an anachronism.

Seeing a jumbo jet land during a battle at the Civil War is an anachronism.

But we don't teach you to create a particular image.

That is up to you.

That is the beauty of this formula.

Students make their personal images which match their fertile minds.

The next word you want to learn, I mean really learn, try my simple plan.

An extraordinary vocabulary will be your next destination.
