Children Must Be Taught to Think

“Children must be taught how to think, not what to think.” ― Margaret Mead The thinking process gets very little attention in our educational system. Yet it is the link to an Ivy education. Think about it. Remember how you and other classmates howled at having to memorize all those obscure dates in history? What was the point? Well, the real point was that you were not being taught to think in the future, As I teach in my book Gift To My Dad, unless you can think before it happens, you are not really thinking at all. My dad said. “Know what you are going to do with the ball before the ball comes to you.” That simple baseball statement can be applied to anything in life. Do you have a plan for the est of your life? Do you have a plan for the next ten minutes. Are you living in the past? Are you living in the future? Are you just trying to keep up with the now. Think about it. It will change your life.
