Need a Funny Fundraiser?

Steve Tarde is the youngest CPA to retire in private practice. At the ripe old age of 32, he decided to follow his true passion in life---writing, speaking and entertaining and he has never looked back. Born in the Bronx, New York, with degrees from Hofstra and Adelphi Universities, Steve has made his home in San Diego since 1982. Steve’s dad was on the spring training roster of the 1934 Brooklyn Dodgers managed by Casey Stengel. As a baseball player in Melville, New York, Steve would entertain his teammates with poems and stories to alleviate the boredom on long bus rides. One of those routines was based on the famous Ernest Thayer poem CASEY AT THE BAT, written in 1888. Steve shares the one man show he has developed from that poem with audiences worldwide and he now celebrates 50 years with Casey. He offers I AM CASEY AT THE BAT to groups of all types, especially as an evening of fundraising mixed with laughter. Celebrities who have hired Steve to generate funds for their private charities have included Pistol Pete Maravich and Mickey Mantle. In San Diego, Steve has blended his personal brand of motivation and mayhem for groups such as Torrey Pines High School and the University of San Diego. Steve wrote the 2009 motivational classic GIFT TO MY DAD (Amazon). In 2012, Steve’s high school honored him for founding the school’s Hall of Fame, which was created in 2008. To discuss having Steve perform his unique stage play for your group, message him or send an email to stevetarde@gmail.com
