From Baby Boomers (the Book)
I received a great deal of money as all 13 year old Jewish boys enjoy, but the wardens confiscated it.
I never saw a dime.
I did get a clock radio where I fell in love with ballads and a strange ID bracelet which was more like a missing person ID.
It was a bulky silver chain and it had two points of information.
STEVEN JAY TARDE
December 29, 1962
There was no personal greeting.
It was like prison issued gear.
And of course, that is exactly what it was meant to be from the hard hearted wardens.
Instead of giving me something on my special day which would hint at love, they opted for something which would help me if I ever was to be lost in the forest.
