America Is A Fraud!

I love America!
I am not ashamed to sat my knees grow weak and I become emotional often when hearing the national anthem at sporting events.
My daughter-in-law's dad is of Filipino descent and fought alongside American troops in World Wort II.
I have watched him weep with nostalgia and joy when listening to the music which defines America to so many.
But America is a fraud.
We have done nothing to advance the success of our young people in 60 years or more.

I was educated in public schools beginning in 1955. I thought I had a pretty well rounded education, but what was missing.

1. Spanish
2. Entrepreneurship
3. Nutrition
4. Health
5. Confidence
6. Study of Money
7. Cooking

I am sure you get the idea.

Were American visionaries so blind in 1950 that they didn't see the need to teach every American to be bilingual in a country which would be heavily Latin by the end of the century?

No matter how I did in high school, I had nobody who was going to help get me into an Ivy League school, study at Oxford or match my talents with their vision for me.

There has never been a national mentoring program in the United States.

And it could be the answer.

If only we could see it.

Steve, you make a valid point for having a longterm national educational strategy. Over here in the UK, despite being only 22 miles from France, most Brits don't speak any other European language, and we have the same issues over health, financial astuteness and access to real opportunity. Good luck with your endeavours.
