What if Every Child....

What if it was a promise every child in America made?
Would it make a difference in how we felt about each other?
Would it make a difference in how we respected each other?
Would it make a difference in how we treated each other?
40 years ago, I began the journey.
I began in the South Bronx, my first teaching job.
Teach a child how to write a simple paragraph.
Encourage them to teach another to do the same.
It has spread.
It continues to spread.
Sites like Facebook have made it spread like wildfire.
