My friend Doug Burson had a question for me.

Is MOVIES only for kids?

The Internet whiz from Kansas City didn't think there was anything wrong with that.

After all, he had a young son and was amazed to discover that my MOVIES technique had helped my own daughter score a 700 on her writing section of the demanding SAT.

The answer is MOVIES is for everyone.

What will be you legacy?

I was chatting this weekend with a friend about my writing, my MOVIES philosophy, teaching the powerful concepts of mental imagery.

We talked about my idea for a series of children's books to teach my MOVIES philosophy from the early childhood age.

My friend, an Internet marketer, shared with me his dream.

"If I could share my message to children and parents about how important it is to protect one's identity at an early age on the Internet, that would be one of the greatest accomplishments of my life."

"It would be your legacy!" I stated.

For a moment, nothing was said.

I sensed how the conversations had reached an emotional chord.

What will be your legacy?

Have you thought about that?

I have taught the power of mental imagery, I call it MOVIES to my students for decades.

WE have a group forming now, a ground floor opportunity if you will, of like minded thinkers who would like to be my publishers of mental imagery books, including a brand new series of children books.

In short, those who we accept into the program will be authorized to distribute MOVIES materials as publishers in our network.

It is an exciting concept.

It is our legacy.

A Mentor Can Help You Attract!

In my lectures, I am often asked about the power of attraction.

So many of us are still struggling with this extraordinary power.

Even though the power of attraction can be very simple to initiate, it still seems to elude many who seek it.

In fact, the harder one tries to apply the power of attraction, the more frustrating it might be.

Why would you seek this power?

Many would say money, but not as many as you might think.

Some are seeking contacts, friends, potential loves, a return to good health, even a better golf game.

My advice is to do the following and do it today!

Find a mentor and begin a conversation.

That's how I start with every student who has studied with me for almost 4 decades.

One question.

If the mentor fails to respond with a personal email or message, what kind of mentor will they be for you?

If they offer products before they answer a single question, what kind of mentor will they be for you?

If they treat you as they would treat a bulk customer, without treating you as the human being you are, what kind of gift will they offer you?

If your mentor candidate doesn't impress you, move on.

There are many extraordinary mentors in the personal development universe whose purpose in life is to connect with you.

They are out there.

I find them through a question.

And even though the traffic may be great, everyone deserves and receives an email to their opening ASK.

ASK and ATTRACT.

Can you feel it?

That's the simple, but inexorable POWER OF ATTRACTION, just waiting to transform your life!

IS YOUR CHILD A SUPERSTAR IN SCHOOL?

I have taught athletes to be superstars in their sport.

Yet nothing thrills me more than to bring my MOVIES technique to the classroom.

It's where I first started teaching MOVIES in the South Bronx, New York City.

If your child is a poor writer, reader, speaker or is behind in their vocabulary skills, there is a reason.

They have yet to be ignited with the passion for these integral communication skills.

You cast the characters.

You chose the plot.

You wrote the dialogue.

You picked the setting.

You directed the action.

It sounds like a movie!

And it is.

Like many good movies, it can be a major attraction.

My Son: The Newest Half Marathoner

He started with a dream.

What if running helped him reach many goals in life?

He wasn't fat, but he carried around 200 pounds on his frame, a husky man, like his dad, nobody would say he was overweight.

But Scott had his own mirror.

There was the stress at his job.

This is a hard charging professional who was once appointed by the Governor of California to serve for him in health care.

This was not a man who sat back and watched life go by.

And what's more, he was a man always searching for something in life.

That's why he had accomplished so much at such an early age.

So, last October, he started to run.

His first run left him winded.

Then there was his first 5K.

I walked over the Coronado Bay Bridge in May and Scott ran across it, as we both competed in the 4 mile run/walk.

Scott was gearing up to the America's Finest City Half Marathon.

Can you imagine a shade over thirteen miles?

Scott could.

Nine months of running had led him to the challenge he promised his body and mind could master.

The morning of Sunday, August 16, was spectacular, but we San Diegans expect such high standards when it comes to climate.

That's why we have chosen America's Finest City to reside in.

Scott was out of the house shortly after 4AM.

Five hours later, he crossed the finish line and was given his medal.

His family met him as 7,700 runners made it almost impossible to distinguish anyone from the sea of faces.

Finally, I saw Scott.

"Don't hug me, pops, I am all sweat."

To hell with thet, I hugged him hard and took in all that sweat with fatherly pride.

His mom shies away from these events.

She loved her son dearly, but still worries about him.

Mothers always will.

Will he not settle for the half-marathon and go for the full 26.2 miles?

Only Scott can answer that.

A svelte Scott, 166 pounds , soaking wet.

A less stressed at work Scott who has made running a cause celebre in his life.

A son who does so much for all of us and has finally done something for himself.

I don't have to look far when I wonder what I did right in life.

He just crossed the finish line.

Pardon me if it choked me up just a little.

SOUTH BRONX: 1972

What was a boy from Long Island doing here.

Well, at the NYC Board of Education, they told this boy that he could make $37.50, if he drove to the Bronx and taught at a new school.

New school?

Piece of cake.

I parked my car and things seemed quiet.

The trip had taken a little over an hour,

How long would it take me to get home?

Was my new Chevy Chevelle safe on the street?

What was that by my foot?

It turned out to be dead dog, one of several I would see in the street as I walked to the new school.

What was that smell.

Of course, the dead dogs didn't add to the aroma of the place, but this was a different stench.

Puddles of urine added to the atmosphere.

And I wasn't even inside the school yet.

Anyone for Law School?

Actually, there is a better question here, as I write this on the dawn of another gorgeous San Diego day.

I know I did.

That's why San Diego became my home nearly 30 years ago.

I have taught teenagers to write with power for over 35 years.
