Summer is in full swing and kids nationwide are enjoying their favorite 3 words.
NO SCHOOL TODAY!
Soon, most campuses will be back in business and those with college in their future will feel the pressure of getting the grades they need to make the cut.
My daughter enters her Junior year. She will have her pick of colleges as she has a straight A average.
I have not written much or made too much effort to praise Lindsey's fabulous scholastic skills.
In fact, I did little to teach her the power of visualization and how it can boost her word retention.
Instead, she seemed to absorb it from a distance.
I first noticed how she would use words as early as age 4 when she attended kindergarten.
I would pick her up at school and kid with her by saying:
What luck that such a cute little girl is going my way.
And my precocious 4 year old would respond.
Yes, what a coincidence!
The word coincidence is not in most personal word inventories of America's 4 year olds.
However, I can assure you that if such a word or similar words do in fact exist in their mental library, that child is well on their way to developing an extraordinary vocabulary.
Their reading and writing abilities will dwarf the competition as well.
And they will have their pick of any college in the land.
That is the magnificent future that awaits my soon to be 16 year old.
It should be the future of all Americans.
And the power of visualization can make that reality.
